Eating Disorders - Overcoming Anorexia and Bulimia - Therapy in Nice

Understanding eating disorders (ED)

Eating disorders such as anorexia, bulimia and binge eating are complex problems that affect many people, regardless of age, gender or social background. These disorders are not limited to excessive preoccupation with weight or physical appearance. They often reflect deep-seated emotional suffering and difficulties in managing stressful situations or intense emotions.

There are many causes of ED, and they vary from person to person. Among the factors often identified are :

- Socio-cultural influences: Societal and media pressure to achieve an unattainable ideal of thinness can play a triggering role.
- Family history: Family patterns, a history of eating disorders or depression in the family can also predispose a person to ED.
- Trauma and unresolved emotions: Traumatic experiences, chronic stress or difficulties in expressing emotions can lead to a dysfunctional relationship with food.

How hypnosis can help you overcome an eating disorder

Hypnosis is a gentle and respectful approach that allows you to work in depth on the underlying causes of your eating disorder. Unlike other methods, it does not focus solely on the apparent symptoms, but aims to explore and transform the emotions, beliefs and thought patterns that keep the disorder in place.

Here's how I can help you:

- Accessing the unconscious : Hypnosis creates a bridge between your conscious and unconscious minds. Together, we'll explore the deep-rooted causes of your eating habits, which are often linked to emotional wounds or limiting beliefs, and work to transform them.

- Changing thought patterns: In a state of hypnosis, it is possible to reprogram negative thought patterns and automatisms that lead you to have a conflictual relationship with food. This will enable you to rediscover a more serene and balanced relationship with your body and your food.

- Managing your emotions: One of the keys to successful treatment of eating disorders is learning to manage your emotions in ways other than through food. Hypnosis will help you develop new strategies for coping with stress, anxiety or other difficult emotions, without resorting to dysfunctional eating behaviours.

- Boosting self-esteem: Often, OCD is accompanied by low self-esteem. Through specific sessions, hypnosis will help you reconnect with your self-worth, develop a more positive self-image and boost your self-confidence.

Please note: Hypnotherapy, EFT and EMDR, even when practiced by a therapist, are in no way substitutes for medicine. All medical conditions must be followed up by medical and/or therapeutic professionals. Furthermore, I am not a psychiatrist. Consequently, I do not make therapeutic diagnoses, and no medication should be modified or stopped without the advice of the medical staff who prescribed it. However, I am trained in psychopathology and psychotraumatology. In other words, I'm able to detect the symptoms of the most common psychological and personality disorders. And above all, I'm able to use the tools I've developed to help you resolve the emotional distress that is the cause of these disorders.
